COP: Who are you and what do you do?
NM: I'm a sustainable fashion lover and advocate. I'm currently Head of Product for Good On You - a sustainable fashion app that helps consumers shop their values. I also advocate for sustainable fashion through my blog and Instagram @livingwith10.
COP: What's something you've grown to love about your job?
NM: At Good On You everyone is passionate about making a change for good in the fashion industry. I know lots of people say this all the time (but it's true), having a passion for what you do gives you a type of grit and motivation you can't find elsewhere. I'm so lucky in my job as I get to collaborate with a like-minded community of sustainable fashion lovers, shoppers and designers to create and implement ideas that will make a real difference.
COP: What's one thing you love about COP?
NM: I can't pick one thing! I love everything. And I think that's the best thing about buying clothing that is ethical, sustainable and social-minded. Dressing sustainably is all about minimal wardrobes, buying what you need and loving everything you own. When I started dressing sustainably I started to care more about each garment and what I buy. My COP moss green slip is one of the best dresses I've ever owned. I can dress it up, or down. Wear it in winter and summer. It's easy to style and it feels beautiful on. Plus, it's more than just a dress - there is a story behind it (which is a great story to tell when people go "hey, I love your dress!) Knowing that your purchase will help support youth in NZ makes the dress that much more special.
COP: If you could give your teenage self a piece of advice, what would it be?
NM: You don't have to know what you want to be when you grow up! Do things that inspire you and you'll find the thing you love doing the most.
